Brief Bio

Welcome to this blog. I am an associate professor at Cal State Northridge where I teach courses related to Kinesiology. I earned my M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Motor Behavior from the University of Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. My line of research focuses on two main areas: (1) validation of observational models in psychomotor assessment instruments and (2) the relationship between motor skill competence, perceived motor competence, physical activity levels, and body composition.

Full disclosure

I am not a statistician. That said, learning statistical concepts has become part of my life. First, because I was trained to be a researcher; second, because I teach an introductory course on statistics for master’s level kinesiology students at Cal State Northridge.

Why writing a blog?

The purpose of this blog is two-fold: 1) to push me to continue learning statistics, and 2) to help students make sense of statistical concepts.
